Thursday, September 1st (day 64/365)
A while ago, we were at a garage sale, and bought a bag of cool Fisher Price balls for a dollar. The balls all have things inside of them that spin around when you roll the ball. Phoebe loves the balls and plays with them all the time (I love them because they are easy to clean). Then, a few weeks ago, we were at the baby consignment store and we saw a Fisher Price toy with a ramp for rolling balls. I (naively it turns out) assumed that it must be made to work with the balls we already had - I mean surely Fisher Price has one standard size ball for all their toys - right? Ha ha! Wrong. It turns out that Fisher Price has many sizes of balls, all specifically engineered to work in different toys. We ended up having to purchase replacement balls for the ramp (for a total cost higher than the ramp itself I might add) directly from Fisher Price. Anyway, on one end of the ramp is an elephant and if you put the ball in his ear, it comes out his trunk. Jeremy was repeatedly shoving balls in the elephant's ear trying to show Phoebe how the toy works. After watching Jeremy for a while, she figured it out! You can see that she doesn't always get it quite right, but when she does, she's pretty excited.
