Tuesday, September 6 (day 69/365)

I am not sure exactly what was going on here, but I came downstairs and found these three giggling in the kitchen.  I'm sure they were up to no good :)

Oh hi mom, what's up?  Us?  Oh nothing, just hanging out.  Nothing to see here.

Seriously.  Look at these faces.  Would we cause trouble?

Monday, September 5 (day 68/365)

Happy Labor Day!  We really enjoyed having three full days to spend together this weekend!  Sadly, Phoebe was a little out of sorts because her teeth were really bothering her.  At one point we decided to take a walk to see if a change of scenery would cheer her up.  By the end of the block she was nodding off and by the next street down, she was completely out.

In addition to being fussy about teething, Phoebe has been at her wits end about baby jail.

Hi Baby.  What's up?  Oh, you're stuck on that side of the gate?  Too bad.

Sunday, September 4 (day 67/365)

This Sunday morning, we put an old baby gate up in the doorway between the living room and the kitchen.  We built a mini-perimeter around part of the living room to create a semi-contained area that we're calling baby jail.  Guess who is not amused.
What is going on here?  I don't think I approved this.

Sad baby says she is innocent - let her out of jail!

We also went to the county fair!  We had a fun family day out.  Phoebe wasn't as big a fan of the animals as we thought she would be, but she loved her first carousel ride.

Jeremy wants Grandma Joyce to know that this is as close as Phoebe is ever going to get to a pony.

She loves her stuffed turkey, so Phoebe was pretty excited to see the real thing.

The highlight of the trip was definitely the carousel

BUNNIES!!!

Saturday, September 3 (day 66/365)

Saturday afternoon at the park with Daddy

Friday, September 2 (day 65/365)

Danger has decided that if he has to put up with the baby, the least she can do is share her breakfast

Waffle-napper in action!

Feeding the baby waffles!!  Babies can't eat waffles! But, babies with TEETH can!!!

Bad Bloggers!

Just a quick check in to let everyone know we're still alive.  Sorry there haven't been any Phoebe pictures in a while - rest assured we've been snapping away, we just haven't had any time to post.  The start of the school year has been really rough for me and I am already behind in a lot of my work-related tasks.  Since I'm working full time+, I try to maximize my Phoebe time when I am home.  Then, as soon as she goes to sleep it is back to work.  This means I haven't had much time to blog.  On top of everything, we've been having some rough nights lately - we're not sure if it is teeth, or an early appearance of the 9-month sleep regression.  I am not sure it really matters why we aren't getting any sleep at this point :)  New pictures soon ... or soonish anyway!

Thursday, September 1st (day 64/365)

A while ago, we were at a garage sale, and bought a bag of cool Fisher Price balls for a dollar.  The balls all have things inside of them that spin around when you roll the ball.  Phoebe loves the balls and plays with them all the time (I love them because they are easy to clean).  Then, a few weeks ago, we were at the baby consignment store and we saw a Fisher Price toy with a ramp for rolling balls.  I (naively it turns out) assumed that it must be made to work with the balls we already had - I mean surely Fisher Price has one standard size ball for all their toys - right?  Ha ha!  Wrong.  It turns out that Fisher Price has many sizes of balls, all specifically engineered to work in different toys.  We ended up having to purchase replacement balls for the ramp (for a total cost higher than the ramp itself I might add) directly from Fisher Price.  Anyway, on one end of the ramp is an elephant and if you put the ball in his ear, it comes out his trunk.  Jeremy was repeatedly shoving balls in the elephant's ear trying to show Phoebe how the toy works.  After watching Jeremy for a while, she figured it out!  You can see that she doesn't always get it quite right, but when she does, she's pretty excited.
